Keep Local 183 Strong!

What can you do?   Become active by observing construction projects in your local area.  If the job going on is a public project and is being performed by a non-union company, report it to the staff at Local 183, so they can investigate.

Why?  To help insure that contractors are following the Prevailing Wage laws, so that proper wages and fringe benifits are paid to all workers on public projects.  This can help level the playing field for union contractors, therefore benefiting the carpenters of  Local 183.

What else can you do?

  • Make sure contractors are not misclassifying their workforce (1099 Misclassification)
  • Make sure the workforce is documented.
  • Keep your eyes and ears open for future projects or grant money being awarded in your area.
